Jane L. Shively
Jane L. Shively, 85, of Butler passed away late Friday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler, following a period of declining health.
Born in Fairview Township on Aug. 25, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Earl E. and Carrie McClure Roxbury.
She was a graduate of the Fairview Township-Karns City School District.
Jane worked in the Butler County controller's office for many years, served in auditor capacity for Tri-County Manpower, and served on the Butler County Parks and Recreation Board. She received many awards for dedication to duty in all three of these services.
A former member of the Karns City United Methodist Church, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in Butler at the time of her passing.
She possessed an unsurpassed ability as a seamstress, creating many unique quilts and other items of that nature. Jane also enjoyed creating floral decorations for her home and for friends.
Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Leslie “Les” Kriebel Shively, whom she married on May 26, 1950, in the Fairview United Presbyterian Church by the late Rev. R.C. Sherrard. Also surviving are her daughter and husband, Denise and Gary Donelli of Grove City; and two sons, David and Patty Shively, and Andrew B. “Andy” Shively, all of Butler. She is also survived by two granddaughters and their husbands, Danna and Joseph Vilkoski of Twinsburg, Ohio, and Briana and Brian Dugan of Butler; as well as two great-grandchildren, Adam and Alex Dugan. She also is survived by nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, as the last surviving member of her family, she was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
SHIVELY — Visitation for Jane L. Shively, who died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the Karns City United Methodist Church, Route 268, Karns City. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the church with the Rev. “Jim” Lewis, church pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Dr., Butler, PA 16001 or the Karns City United Methodist Church, Karns City, PA 16041.Services to the family are provided by the H.
