Betty M. McClimans
Betty M. McClimans, 76, of Chatham, Va., formerly of Butler, passed away Wednesday in the Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville, Va., after a prolonged illness.
She was born on March 11, 1938, in Concord Township, the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Christie Daugherty.
Betty was retired from Grove City College. She was an avid golfer and bowler who loved working with young children.
She was a member of the North Street Christian Church in Butler and the Cornerstone Church of Christ in Chatham, Va.
Surviving are her son, Scott McClimans and his wife, Jane, of Chatham, Va.; her three grandchildren, Caleb, Nathan and Katie McClimans of Chatham, Va.; her siblings, Dorothy Snyder of Parker, Anna Sweeney of Butler, Edward Daugherty of Platsburgh, N.Y., Marian Strong of Royersford, James Daugherty of Ishpeming, Mich., Doris Stephenson of Butler, Donna Weiland of Oak Forest, Ill., Peggy Brainard of Warren, Ohio, and Mary Jane Furey of Fenelton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill McClimans, who she married in 1970 and who died on Jan. 3, 1986, and her brother, Anthony “Doc” Daugherty.
McClimans — The friends of Betty M. McClimans, who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at theYoung Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the North Street Christian Church, 226 W. North St., Butler.
