Michael L. Crytser Sr.
Michael L. Crytser Sr., 67, of Butler, formerly of DuBois, passed away Nov. 4 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1946, in DuBois and was the son of the late Robert L. Crytser, Sr. and Evelyn Pauline Minns Crytser.
Michael was married to Elaine Swartzlander-Crytser on Sept. 8, 2007.
He graduated from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.
Michael was a retired purchasing manager at United Electric Cooperative. He was a former member of the boards of directors of United Electric Cooperative, the Sandy Township Planning Committee, the DuBois Little League, and DuFast.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Butler and he attended the Tri-County Church in DuBois.
Michael enjoyed fishing in Canada and spending time at his cottage in Punxsutawney.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his son, Michael L. Crytser Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of DuBois; his stepdaughter, Meredith Lindsay and her husband, James, of Butler; his stepson, Andrew Smith and his wife, Gina, of Butler, and his sister, Charlene Halowell and her husband, Robert Jr., of Falls Creek. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jillian Bruni-Crytser, Lennon and Jacob Lindsay, and Alaina Smith, as well as a niece and a nephew.
Crytser — A social gathering for Michael L. Crytser Sr., who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, will be from 6 p.m. to the time of a salvation memorial service in the sanctuary at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael's name to the Trinity Lutheran Church or as a freewill offering at the social gathering.Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Martin Funeral Home, Butler.For more information, please visit www.martinfh.net.
