Herbert Lincoln Langdon, Ph.D.

Herbert Lincoln Langdon, Ph.D., passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon of Alzheimer's disease.

Born on July 7, 1935, in Malone, N.Y., he was the son of the late Walter A. and Sarah Lincoln Langdon from Adirondack Gardens, Malone, N.Y.

Herb had a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Lawrence University (1957) and a Ph.D. in Anatomy from the University of Miami School of Medicine.

He retired in 1998 from his teaching position as associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.

Herb was a longtime resident of Mars and a member of the All Saints Anglican Church of Cranberry Township.

Herb was a quiet, gentle man, dedicated to his students, his wife and his family dogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Langdon Sequin of Santa Barbara, Calif.

Surviving are his wife, Judith Anderson Langdon, who he married on July 15, 1972; his cousin, Iverna Lincoln Huntsman of Bozeman, Mont., and his best friend, Nicholas Piesco of Tampa, Fla.

Langdon — The friends of Herbert Lincoln Langdon, Ph.D., who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.The All Saints Anglican Church will have a service at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the St. Kilian Church, corner of Clark and Cherry Streets, Mars, with the Fr. Shawn Honey officiating. Please meet at the church.
