Jack W. Coates
Jack W. Coates, 67, of Harmony passed away Thursday in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.
Born Dec. 8, 1946, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Jack W. and Grace Noah Coates.
Jack proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Hungarian Club, the Loyal Order of the Harmony Moose and the American Legion Post 474. Jack loved woodworking and operated his own business, Coates’ Custom Cues, where he handcrafted custom pool cues. His favorite memories were spent camping and spending time with his beloved wife of 30 years. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Cathy White of Harmony; his two sons, Jack “Jason” W. Coates II and his wife, Lisa, of Mason, Mich., and Jeff Coates of Sharon, formerly of Lansing, Mich.; his brother, Ed Coates and his wife, Pam, of Ellwood City; his sister, Val Kamrud; his father-in-law, Richard White of Zelienople; his sister-in-law, Teresa Flowers and her husband, William, of Allison Park; two brothers-in-law, Tom White and his wife, Ramona, of Harmony and Norman White of Fredericksburg, Va.; his grandchild, Jayden Wray Coates; five stepgrandchildren, Amber and Jon Silvey and Evelyn, Jamie and Derick Pike; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Jerry Coates, Greg Coates and Dennis Coates, and one nephew.
