Paul Bush
Paul Bush, 83, of Butler passed away Wednesday morning at the Emergency Room of Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born on Feb. 26, 1931, in Clear-field, he was a son of the late Walter John Bush and Theresa Irene Welsh Bush.
Paul graduated from Barnesboro High School in 1949 and was a retired Pennsylvania State Trooper for Troop D Butler Barracks, enlisting on May 4, 1954, and retiring on Dec. 25, 1985.
He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, the Retired State Police Association of Pennsylvania, the Knights of Columbus Council 866 in Butler, and the VFW 343 and the American Legion 508, both in North Cambria County.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.
Paul's greatest joy was spending time with his family and he took pleasure in preparing meals for holiday gatherings. He will always be remembered for his legendary pizza and baked beans. Sharing amusing stories and comical melodies brought much delight to his family.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Louise Bush, who he married on Jan. 18, 2002; his four children, Daniel P. Bush, Geralyn (Eric) Werner, Paul Gerard Bush, and Karen (Daniel) Snyder, all of Butler; his two stepsons, Thomas (Laura) Somerville and Kent (Kelly) Somerville, all of Butler; his nine grandchildren, Thomas (Amanda) Phillips, Luke (Alisa) Werner, Megan (Michael) Bartley, Matthew, Marc and Derek Bush, and Danica, Dominic and Mia Snyder; his three great-grandchildren, Thomas and Carter Phillips, and Aiden Bartley; his three stepgrandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Jack Somerville, and his brother, William L. (Peggy) Bush of Mentor, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Roselyn Romett Bush, who died on Sept. 9, 1986; his brother, Jack Bush, and his sister, Bernadine Bush.
Bush — The friends of Paul Bush, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at theGeibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.The St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, to recite the rosary.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Church Cemetery in North Cambria County.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 104 N.
