SRU men handle Lock Haven on road
Following a poor shooting night Saturday in a loss to Mansfield, the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team came out with one of its best offensive showings of the season in an 88-79 road win at Lock Haven Sunday.
The Rock shot 37 percent in the 82-72 loss to Mansfield, but bounced back to shoot 60.6 percent and score 51 points in the first half against Lock Haven Sunday.
Five SRU players reached double-digit scoring in the win.
Frank Holloway paced The Rock (11-3, 6-2) with 20 points. Antonio Butler added 18, Cornelius Brown 13, Chaquille Pratt 11 and Kelvin Goodwin 10.
Brown also had 12 rebounds.
D'Asia Chambers scored 25 points in a 75-65 win over Mansfield on Saturday, but The Rock fell to Lock Haven, 68-59, on Sunday.Chambers also had 14 rebounds in the win Saturday. She scored 16 points and added nine boards in the setback Sunday.Erica Aiello added 12 points for SRU (6-6, 2-6) in the loss to Lock Haven.
