Janet D. Parsons Grindel
Janet D. Parsons Grindel passed away Sunday in the loving care of the Butler VNA Hospice with her family at her side.
Janet was born on March 5, 1933, in Evans City, the daughter of Clair “Red” Parsons and Maxine Sparky Neese Parsons.
Janet retired from the shipping department of the Mine Safety Appliances Co. with 40 years of service.
She was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church of Meridian. She was a very active volunteer with the JAL Youth Group and the St. Fidelis Sisters In Faith.
Janet was a very avid card player and belonged to many card clubs. She was a member of the Evans City Senior Center.
She married Louis “Pete” Grindel on June 23, 1951, and they enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. She is also survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Joy (Jim) Mulkern and Mrs. Jill (Dean) Hirschy; her four grandchildren, Chelsea and Philip Hirschy and Gavin and Jimmy Mulkern; her great-grandchild, McKenna; and her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Sally Long.

Parsons Grindel, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at theBoylan Funeral Home, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Fidelis Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, with the Father James Murphy officiating.
