Jefferson Twp man ready to build racetrack

JEFFERSON TWP — After being stuck idling in neutral for a few years, Brett Neupert has shifted into high gear to build his Micro-Sprint racetrack.

Neupert said that after a three-year delay he is ready to move forward.

“We’re looking to get it done as soon as possible,” he said.

The quarter-mile track is to be built on the Neupert family’s 40-acre farm along Neupert Road. There is no construction schedule set.

Neupert already has seven bids from prospective contractors. He is considering companies based in Butler County or surrounding counties.

“We turned down everybody that was out of state,” Neupert said.

He said dirt excavation alone for Neupert Raceway Park is expected to take three months.

Neupert said he’s met all township, state and federal requirements, including a National Pollutant Discharge System permit, for the construction plan.

“I have all the permits in my hand,” he said.

Township and state officials confirm Neupert is ready to go.

Neupert said the main reason for the delay in the startup was that his father died in 2012.

“That took a lot of drive out of the project,” he said.
