Nancy Carol Procter Vodenichar

Nancy Carol Proctor Vodenichar, 76, passed away Sunday in Greensboro, N.C.

She was born on Sept. 11, 1938, in Rochester, the daughter of Edress Proctor, and William Straford and George Proctor.

She attended Freedom High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Anthony “Tony” Vodenichar, who she married on Nov. 4, 1967; her son, Michael, and her grandson, Dennis.

She is survived by her 11 children and stepchildren, Linda (the late Ernest Young and William) Rahn, Lonnie (Patricia) Vodenichar, Patricia (James) Scheck, Terry (Robert) Sniady, Sandra (Donald) Sniady, Ronald (Linda) Vodenichar, Jay Vodenichar, Rodney (Elaine) Vodenichar, Randy (Karen) Vodenichar, Joseph (Faye) Vodenichar, and Michelle (Douglas) Miller, and her brother, James Proctor. She is also survived by her 24 grandchildren; her 42 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

Always very involved in the lives of her husband and “the kids,” she served as president of both the Big Knob Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary in 1970 and the Freedom High School Band Boosters from 1970 to 1971.

She relocated to North Carolina in 1981 and became co-owner of Rock Kiddie Kare with her lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Nancy Vodenichar Knight. She retired in 2009.

Vodenichar — There will be no viewing for Nancy Carol Proctor Vodenichar, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014.A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Grove Lutheran Church, 434 Harkins Mill Road, Zelienople. The public is welcome. Private burial will be at Sylvania Hills Cemetery in New Brighton.The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Camp Lutherlyn, 500 Lutherlyn Lane, Butler PA 16001.
