Thomas H. Holt
Thomas H. Holt, 94, of Butler passed away Sunday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1920, in Uniontown, the son of the late George and Hilda Smith Holt.
Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.
He retired from Pullman Standard after 42 years of service, where he also served as a union representative for Steelworkers Local 1415.
Thomas was a member of the St. John's Reformed Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, going to his camp, and traveling. He had traveled to all 50 states except Hawaii.
Surviving are his five daughters, Marlene Skelley of Butler, Lana McKinnis of Renfrew, Paula (John) Shannon of New Castle, Debbie Wonderling of Butler, and Robin Hodge of Fenelton; his four sons, Larry (Pat) Holt of Butler, Robert Holt of Warren, Ohio, Richard (Lorraine) Holt of Butler, and Kevin (Beth) Holt of Butler; his daughter-in-law, Susan Holt of Butler; his 29 grandchildren; his 40 great-grandchildren; his three great-great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Laura Bloom of Butler and Jessie Mounts of Butler, and his brother, Mack Holt of Haddam, Conn.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Lois M. Holt, who died on Oct. 14, 2012; his son, Thomas Holt Jr.; his three grandchildren, Andrew, Saundra and William; his great-granddaughter, Hope Marie Wonderling; three sisters, and four brothers.
Holt— Friends of Thomas H. Holt, who died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at theYoung Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Norm Tutino, lay pastor at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
