Phyllis Pearl 'Phyl' Weigle
Phyllis Pearl “Phyl” Weigle, 92, of Cabot passed away at 1:57 a.m. Wednesday at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
She was born on Sept. 11, 1922, in Butler to the late Harry Cumberland and Frances Wall Cumberland.
Mrs. Weigle was a member of the North Street Christian Church.
She was as self-employed beautician and the owner of Phyllis Weigle's Beauty Shoppe, retiring in the summer of 1980. Mrs. Weigle enjoyed crafts, sewing and birdwatching.
Mrs. Weigle is survived by her two sons, Gordon Weigle and his wife, Susan, of Rockford, Ill., and Kerry Weigle and his wife, Diane, of Pittsburgh; her two daughters, Susan Engwer of North Huntingdon and Patricia Krason and her husband, David, of Butler; her eight grandchildren, Keith Engwer, Joanne Arroy, Jason Engwer, Alan Weigle, Nathan Haas, Justin Weigle, Stephen Weigle and Beth Krason; her 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Ted Cumberland of Bradenton, Fla.; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Weigle, who she married on Aug. 11, 1941, and who passed away on Feb. 23, 2013; her great-grandson, Rider Krason; her four brothers, Tom, Lonny, David and Vernon Cumberland; and her sister, Lillian Dickey.
Weigle — The friends of Phyllis Pearl “Phyl” Weigle, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Ray Beard, minister, officiating.
