Bernice M. Radwanski
Bernice M. Radwanski, 90, of Lyndora passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon.
Born on Oct. 15, 1924, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Frye and Lillian Marie Hockenberry Frye.
She was a homemaker, and she had worked at the Shell Shop at Pullman Standard during World War II.
Bernice was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora and the Ladies Guild of the former St. Stanislaus in Lyndora. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, playing 500 and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Gregory A. (Robin) Radwanski of Lyndora; her two daughters, Beverly (John) McDivitt of Butler and Karen (Gary) Rishel of Lyndora; her six grandchildren, Wallace Hays Jr., Kristin Hays, Nicole (Tawnya Lunz) Rishel, Terri (Jesse) Tirk, Holly (Doug) Machak, and Darin (Amanda) Radwanski; her seven great-grandchildren, Toby and Kylie Tirk, Arianna Lunz, Reese and Callen Machak, and Khloe and Leah Radwanski; her brother, Harry (Judy) Frye of Butler; her sister-in-law, Bernice Radvinski of Butler; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip J. Radwanski Sr., who she married on May 11, 1944, and who died on May 2, 2011; her infant son, Ronald Radwanski; her son, Philip J. Radwanski Jr., who died in 2004; her four sisters; and two brothers.
Radwanski — The friends of Bernice M. Radwanski, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at theGeibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.The Bereavement Committee of the St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home for a vigil service.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 303 Penn Ave., Lyndora.
