Richard Michaels

Richard S. Michaels, 69, of Butler passed away Wednesday at his home.

Born July 27, 1945, in Butler, he was the son of the late Samuel and Isabelle L. Frye Michaels.

He retired from Butler Armco Works in 2000 as a scheduler following 33 years of service.

He was a member of St. Anthony Orthodox Church in Butler. He was also a lifetime member and past commander of the VFW Post 249 in Butler and a member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora. He was also a lifetime member and past president of the Lyndora Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and golfing.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Seba “Butch” Raducz Michaels, who he married June 1, 1968; his daughter, Lisa Ann Winwood of Pittsburgh; his son, Samuel J. Michaels of Butler; his cherished dog, “Bella,” and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David R. Michaels.

Michaels — The family and friends of Richard S. Michaels, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Trisagion service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Orthodox Church in Butler with the Rev.
