Margaret 'Peg' Simmer
Margaret “Peg” Simmer of Butler passed away on Jan. 8.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1921, the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice Seanor Deahl.
She married Paul Simmer on Oct. 26, 1945. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2012.
Peg worked as an inspector at Dravo Shipyard for two and a half years during World War II.
She was a member of the Butler Baptist Temple, Butler.
She enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard and bowling, and visiting casinos. She was always known for baking pies, “telling jokes” and singing to her granddaughters and her great-granddaughter, Corryn Sue Borkowski, who brought joy and sunshine into her life.
Peg is survived by her daughter, Deborah Young of Butler; her son-in-law, Edward Nebel of Butler; her granddaughters, Lindsay Young of Pittsburgh and Allison (Jason) Borkowski of Allison Park; and her great-granddaughter, Corryn Borkowksi. She is also survived by her sons, Rod and Jared and their families.
