Frank Nicola Cicco Sr., 87, of Butler passed away Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Butler on Dec. 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Fedele and Ernesta Menniti Cicco.

He was a custom tailor and designer and owned and operated Frank N. Cicco Custom Tailor for 65 years.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

Frank was a member of the Saint Paul R.C. Church and a member of the Custom Tailors and Designers Association of America, where he was a past president. He also was a past president of the Butler Country Club and a past member of the Butler Rotary.

He loved family gatherings and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was an avid golfer and loved to play in the Father and Son Tournaments. Frank also loved “Sinatra Nights.”

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Jean McLafferty Cicco. They married on July 4, 1958. He is also survived by his four children, Mary Jane Ziegler and her husband, Bruce, of Butler, Frank Cicco Jr. and his wife, Jill, of Butler, Martha Martin and her husband, David, of Harmony and Larry Cicco of Cranberry Township.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Carly Ziegler of Cape Coral, Fla., Alex Ziegler of Butler, Dante Cicco of Butler, Nico Cicco of Butler and Mario Martin of Harmony.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Josephine Green.

CICCO — Friends of Frank Nicola Cicco Sr., who died Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Paul R.C. Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.The Saint Paul Catholic women and Christian mothers will meet at the church at 9:35 a.m. Monday to recite the rosary.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Saint Paul R.C.
