Rosemary Pappas, 80, of Butler passed away Thursday following an extended illness.

Born in Butler on Sept. 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Gertrude Bauldauf Finan.

Rosemary was a homemaker and a member of Saint Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian, the Christian mothers of Saint Fidelis and the Catholic Daughters of America.She loved to help with the funeral luncheons and the fish fry dinners at Saint Fidelis.

Affectionately known as “Goo-Goo” to her family, she is survived by her three sons, James C. Pappas III and his wife, Carolyn, of Yukon, Okla., Michael J. Pappas of Clearwater, Fla., and Thomas G. Pappas and his wife, Karen, of Renfrew; two daughters, Kim Ferguson and her husband, Ray, of Butler and Chris Swartwout and her husband, Rob, of Renfrew;10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by one sister, Sheila McLoone of Hobe Sound, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Carol Finan of Renfrew; a number of nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Pappas Jr., who passed away Sept. 20, 2009; and two brothers, Michael D. Finan and Joseph A. Finan.

PAPPAS — There will be no visitation for Rosemary Pappas, who died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday evening at 5 p.m. at Saint Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian, with the Rev. James Murphy, pastor, officiating.Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Butler Catholic School, 515 E. Locust Street, Butler, PA 16001 or to Abode for Children, 230 E.
