Casimira Mary Clark, 96, entered into eternal rest on Sunday evening at The Caring Place, following a period of declining health.

Mrs. Clark was born on March 4, 1918, on Herron (Polish) Hill in Pittsburgh, into the loving family of Feliks “Felix” and Bronislawa “Bernice” Stachowicz Rabazinski. She was named for St. Casimir, on whose feast day she was born, the first daughter after four sons. Another sister and brother would follow to complete the family.

She graduated from Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish School and attended Schenley High School, then trade school for sewing.

She worked for a time at the Armstrong Cork Co. and later graduated from the Griffith Beauty School in Pittsburgh. She worked for a number of years at Claffey's Beauty Shop in East Liberty until her marriage.

Born to Polish immigrant parents, she was perfectly fluent in speaking, reading and writing in English and Polish. Polish was spoken at home and English in the mixed ethnic neighborhood. Polish and English were taught side-by-side in the parochial school she attended, and she became an excellent speller of words in both languages. Mrs. Clark was an avid learner and reader, with particular interests in politics and philosophy.

She and Raymond Joseph Clark were married in the rectory at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Pittsburgh on Oct. 26, 1948, and they moved to Mr. Clark's farm north of Butler. Together, they owned and operated the R.J. Clark Egg Farm at 537 Beaver Dam Road, Clay Township, Butler County, for nearly 50 years. The fruits of their labors were enjoyed not only by those in the local area, but also by those served by Mr. Clark's door-to-door egg routes in Oakmont and Verona, his hometown near Pittsburgh. Their children learned the value of hard work, discipline and education and the love of God and neighbor from their parents' loving example.

Following her husband's death on Nov. 30, 1997, Mrs. Clark moved to Franklin Towers to be close to her daughter and family. There she met many people and created a new circle of good friends. Formerly a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in West Sunbury, Mrs. Clark became a faithful member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church upon moving to Franklin.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Eckel and her husband, John, of Rocky Grove; her son, Dr. Raymond Charles Clark and his wife, Lois, of Reidsville, N.C.; and her daughter, Carolyn Bernice Kucharcik and her husband, Steve, of Curwensville.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Dana Marie Crano and her husband, Salvadore, of Pittsburgh and their daughters, Sarah Elizabeth, Emily Anne and an expected child due to be born this month; Emily Elizabeth Grazulis and her husband, Joe, of Washington and their son, William John; Andrew John Eckel of Rocky Grove; Raymond Taylor Clark and his wife, Sheila, of Sterling, Va., and their daughter, Shelarys; David Samuel Clark of Hillsborough, N.C., and James Raymond Beggs of Harrisburg and his children, Joseph Andrew and Elizabeth Rhoda.

Mrs. Clark also is survived by her sister-in-law, Jane Clark Jakovac of Indian Lake; her goddaughter and niece, Dr. Kathleen Dobrosielski Vergona and her husband, Ronald, of Pittsburgh; her niece, June Jakovac McCudden and her husband, David, of Lancaster; her nephew, Richard Rabazinski and his wife, Maureen, of Winter Park, Fla.; and her special cousin of her late husband, Louise Aiken of Greenville.

In addition, Mrs. Clark is survived by her special friends, Francis “Bucky,” Donna and Gary McCall of West Sunbury and Margaret McClelland of Franklin Towers.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her five brothers, Bruno, Frank, Edward, Walter and Joseph Rabazinski; her sister, Sophia Dobbs; her sisters-in-law, Jean Rabazinski, Nellie Rabazinski and Anna Mae Rabazinski; and her brothers-in-law, Raymond Dobbs and Victor Jakovac. Mrs. Clark was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

The family of Mrs. Clark would like to thank the dedicated aides, nurses and all the staff, including Chaplain Linda Deeter, of the Caring Place for the excellent and compassionate care their mother received while a resident there for five years. The family is also grateful for the spiritual support given her by Msgr. John Herbein and Deacon Richard Reed, and the unwavering attention given to her health needs by her physician, Dr. Stephen Cenedella.

Clark — In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public visitation for Casimira Mary Clark, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015.Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass of Christian burial at noon Wednesday in the St. Patrick Church, 949 Liberty St., Franklin, with the Monsignor John J. Herbein, pastor, as celebrant.
