Diehl Automotive buys Mikan Volkswagen
PENN TWP — Diehl Automotive has bought Mikan Volkswagen and will add Volkswagen products to its lineup.
The deal between the two dealerships went through last week, and Diehl spokesman Donnie Gutherie said this morning, and Volkswagen vehicles, service and parts are available at the Diehl dealership on Pittsburgh Road as of today.
Gutherie said the terms of the deal would not be disclosed. He does not know what will happen to the Mikan building on New Castle Road in Butler Township.
For now, all of the Volkswagen models will be in the Diehl buildings. Eventually, a new building will be planned for those vehicles.
Diehl has 150 employees at its Penn Township location. Gutherie said that a few employees from Mikan will be working at Diehl. He said the company offered positions to many Mikan employees, but he said many chose to go elsewhere.
“We wanted to have as many as possible,” Gutherie said, because of their experience with Volkswagen.
The Butler location also sells Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Toyota and Scion.
A grand opening for the Volkswagen will be held on May 2 at Diehl, featuring live music, catering by the Butler Country Club and prize giveaways.
