Rosalie Marie Habe Sterosky

Rosalie Marie Habe Sterosky, 85, of Gilpin Township passed away Monday in her home.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1929, in Bradys Bend to the late Frank J. and Stella J. Stimac Habe.

Rosalie owned and operated Habe's Nursery along Lovers Leap Road in Gilpin Township from 1978 until her semi-retirement, but she still did the bookkeeping. She was formerly employed as a sales representative, selling sewing machines and vacuum cleaners at the former Wards Department Store in Lower Burrell for 16 years, retiring in 1986. She was also a former employee at Marie's Hat Shop in Leechburg.

She was a member of the St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Lower Burrell and a member and past president of the church guild, a member of the Pennsylvania Christmas Tree Growers Association of Harrisburg and the National Christmas Tree Growers Association, and a 1950 graduate of Leechburg High School.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, sewing, cooking and baking.

Survivors include her son, John Michael Sterosky of Lower Burrell; her daughters, Annamarie Sullivan (Jerry) of Glenshaw and Suzanne Pfund (Terry) of Lower Burrell; her seven grandchildren, Matthew Sullivan, Jamie Sullivan, Keri Sullivan, Jennifer Greenfeld (Ben), Jessica Pfund, Julia Pfund and Mark Sterosky; her two great-grandchildren, Adelyn Greenfeld and Logan Greenfeld; and her brother, John W. Habe of Ford City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike “Ush” Sterosky on July 1, 1998, and her brothers, Frank H. Habe Jr. and George H. Habe, in infancy.

Sterosky— The friends of Rosalie Marie Habe Sterosky, who passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, will be welcomed by her family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Clawson Funeral and Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg.Parting prayers of transfer will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by a Christian funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at the St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3055 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, with her pastor, the Rev. Kenneth Zaccagnini, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin Township.In lieu of flowers, her family encourages memorials to the Lower Kiski Ambulance Service, P.O.
