Michael Andrew Miller
Michael Andrew Miller, 47, of Marietta, Ga., went to his heavenly Father unexpectedly of natural causes Thursday at his home.
Born on Nov. 29, 1967, in Butler, he was the son of Bernard M. and Jo Williams Miller Jr. of Prospect.
A 1986 graduate of Slippery Rock High School, he worked at Cox Communication in Chesapeake, Va., as a phone tech supervisor, and later at the Corporate Center as an applications support specialist in Atlanta, Ga.
For more than 17 years, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a 2nd class petty officer on the USS Enterprise during the Kuwait Operation Freedom as a medic and an optician.
He was a member of the Asbury Wesleyan Church in Newport News, Va.
Mike enjoyed “out fishing” his dad and riding his motorcycle and his Challenger sports car. He won the Atlanta Chili Cook-Off in 2014. But his greatest joys were his love of God, his love of music, his family, his three sons and his “feather” daughter, Roxy, an African Grey parrot.
In addition to his parents, he leaves behind Michelle Miller of Charlotte, N.C.; his three sons, Shane M. of Marietta, Ga., and Tyler R. and Devan A., both of Williamsburg, Va.; and his sister, Angie Miller Elkins and her daughters, Jessica and Samantha Elkins — his nieces — all of Helena, Mont. He also has a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bernard M. and Grace Bateman Miller Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Harry E. “George” and Jane English Williams; and his uncle, Donald Williams.
