Gladys Matteoni

Gladys G. Matteoni, 102, of Butler passed away Monday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on Aug. 21, 1912, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late August and Hazel Falkner Ulrich.

She was a homemaker, and she was formerly employed at Montgomery Ward Company when the store was located on Main Street in Butler.

Gladys was a member of the First English Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her stepson, Donald Matteoni of Butler; her stepdaughter, Rena Staryat of Butler; her three grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren, and her niece, Diane Stehlek of Michigan. She is also survived by her two grandnieces; her two grandnephews; her dearest friend, Cheryl Miller, and her caregiver, Lisa Blakley.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Rene Matteoni, who passed away on July 11, 2003; her brother, Carl Ulrich; her nephew, David Ulrich, and her two sisters-in-law, Eva Matteoni and Betty Ulrich.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and to the Visiting Nurses Association.

Matteoni — The friends of Gladys G. Matteoni, who passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday in theMartin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, with the Rev.
