Verne K. Heckel Jr.
Verne K. Heckel Jr., 84, of Butler passed away Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on Oct. 11, 1930, in Wilkinsburg, he was a son of the late Verne K. and Martha Vero Heckel.
He was employed by Wise Machine Shop as a machinist, retiring in 1995 after 36 years.
He was a member of the St. Peter Anglican Church in Butler.
He enjoyed the collection of old model steam engines, old radios and also enjoyed antique automobiles.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Stephanie Kojadinovich, who he married on June 1, 1957; his son, Stephen J. Heckel of Butler; his daughter, Martha (Greg) Bargerstock of Lower Burrell; his grandson, Christopher Bargerstock; his brother, Dr. Robert V. (Elizabeth) Heckel of South Carolina, and his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
