Butler Police
12:22 p.m. Sunday — Marcy J. Pritts, 38, of Butler allegedly shoplifted merchandise from two stores at the Pullman Square shopping plaza. She is accused of taking 11 items from Kmart and two items from Family Dollar. All of the merchandise is valued at $56.
Pritts, who has one prior arrest for shoplifting, is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.
Butler Twp Police
Monday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Jason S. Beckwith, 37, no known address, stemming from a shoplifting incident April 19 at the Walmart at Butler Commons. A security camera caught him taking an electric shaver kit valued at $148.
The suspect, who is a repeat shoplifter, is charged with a felony count of retail theft. Anyone with information about Beckwith’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 724,285-9600, or call 911.
Monday — Steven R. Bandi, 23, of Butler was charged drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop at 1:35 a.m. April 3 on South Duffy Road near New Castle Road.
In addition to driving under the influence, Bandi is charged with careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.
Monday — Jason E. Maharg, 34, of Butler was charged with DUI stemming from a traffic stop at 12:27 a.m. April 6 at Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road. Police also cited Maharg for disobeying traffic control devices.
Monday — Police said they charged Brett McHenry, 27, of Emlenton in connection with a gun incident April 8 in front of a store at the Butler Crossing shopping plaza. McHenry allegedly pulled a gun on someone who was with the suspect’s wife.
No one was injured and the suspect was gone by the time police got there. According to a police report, McHenry is charged with reckless endangerment, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
Monday — James G. Christensen, 56, of Butler was charged with disorderly conduct after he tried to get into the wrong car while allegedly intoxicated about 6:50 p.m. March 11 at the Sheetz store on New Castle Road.
Christensen was gone by the time officers got there but they later identified him.
In a separate incident, police charged Christensen with theft of services for allegedly not paying a taxi driver a $145 fare from Pittsburgh to Butler.
4:15 p.m. Sunday — Nathan Kashmer, 31, of Pittsburgh was caught with suspected drugs and contraband in the Butler Memorial Hospital parking lot on Hospital Way. Kashmer, who was found during a welfare check, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
3:13 p.m. Saturday — Sara E. Archer, 26, of Butler was arrested on a warrant out of Monongalia County, West Virginia, following a traffic stop on Hansen Avenue. Archer was arraigned on a charge of being a fugitive from justice, and placed in Butler County Prison.
Police also cited her for driving with a suspended license.
3:38 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Travis Curtaccio, 33, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle on the Route 422 west on-ramp at New Castle Road. Erin Doss, 41, of Butler was the other driver.
