Breathing machine helps drunken teen recover
BEAVER TWP, Clarion County — A Butler County boy is recovering after being placed on a hospital breathing machine for alcohol poisoning, authorities said.
State police reported that the 15-year-old boy apparently passed out Saturday from drinking too much alcohol at a campground in Beaver Township, Clarion County.
The youth was drinking at Wolf’s Camping Resort, just south of Knox, with at least three others, including another 15-year-old Butler County boy.
Troopers suspect Calvin J. Louttit, 19, of Corsica, Jefferson County, brought the alcohol to the drinking party.
The youth who succumbed to alcohol was taken to Clarion Hospital and placed on a ventilator, police said. Hospital officials on Sunday advised investigating officers that the boy was “doing OK” and was to be released that afternoon, a police report said,
Police did not identify the 15-year-old boys, from Eau Claire and Petrolia, who face citations for underage drinking.
Louttit and Bryant S. Butler, 20, of Butler also face charges, including underage drinking.
