Julia Jean Hribal
Julia Jean Hribal, 84, of Slippery Rock, Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She was born June 2, 1930, in Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County, to the late Joseph Thomas Biller and Nellie Shibilsky Biller.
She married William John Hribal Feb. 20, 1950, and he preceded her in death Nov. 8 1962. Her longtime companion since 1964, Bernard John Ernette, preceded her in death June 7, 1980.
She retired from “Area of the Ages” in Jeannette, where she served senior citizens.
She was a member of St. Peters Roman Catholic Church in Slippery Rock and Slippery Rock Senior Care.
She enjoyed going with her girlfriends to the Slippery Rock Senior Center, on bus trips and to church dinners in the evenings.
Survivors include her son, William J. Hribal Jr. and his wife, Tina, of Slippery Rock; two daughters, Rebecca L. Hribal and her husband, Mike Fotta, of Morgantown, W.Va., and Bernadette J. Ernette and her husband, Shawn Abbott, of North Olmsted, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Adam Michael Fotta, Erin Elizabeth Bertani, Meredith Fotta Miller, Kailee Rae Hribal, Dustin Lee Hribal, Devan J. Hribal and Amanda Genevieve Abbott; and her great-granddaughter, Lily E. Bertani.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith William Hribal; her sister, Catherine Mihalik; and her brother, Joseph Thomas Biller Jr.
Hribal — The family of Julia Jean Hribal, who passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church in Slippery Rock, with the Rev. Father Kevin Poecking presiding.
