Butler Police
Monday — Police charged Paul P. Throm, 39, of Prospect with passing a bogus check for $350 on Dec. 15 at Nicholas Moving & Storage. The check was written on a bank account with insufficient funds. Throm is charged with bad checks.
6:46 p.m. Thursday — Two people were hurt when a sport utility vehicle driven by Marcia J. Wathall, 66, of Center Township rear-ended another SUV, which was stopped at a red light on Center Avenue at Fairview Avenue.
The other driver, Phyllis J. Stirling, 80, and her passenger, William Stirling, 81, both of Butler Township, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.
2:53 p.m. April 29 — A car driven by Cherish A. Brookbank, 29, of Butler collided with another car at South Main and Campbell streets. Police cited Brookbank for a stop sign violation and driving with a suspended license.
Crystal D. Yeager, 55, of Concord Township was the other driver.
Butler Twp Police
Monday — Police charged Jeremy J. Rivera, 24, and Zachary S. Lowe, 22, both of Butler, in connection with a shoplifting incident last week at Walmart at Butler Commons.
A surveillance camera on Thursday allegedly showed Rivera taking five Sony PlayStation 4 controllers into the store bathroom, according to a police report. He allegedly removed the merchandise of its packaging and left. Police suspect Lowe served as Rivera’s lookout.
A maintenance worker later found five empty boxes for PlayStation 4 controllers in the bathroom trash can.
Rivera is charged with felony counts of retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft and misdemeanor counts of receiving stolen property theft and defiant trespass. Lowe is charged with a felony count of conspiracy to commit retail theft.
6:54 p.m. Friday — Vehicles driven by Michael Schenberg, 49, of Titusville, Crawford County, and Sean Carcaise, 24, no address given, collided in the construction zone at Pickelgate Crossing and Pittsburgh Road. A police report blamed the “unclear lane makers” for the accident.
Grove City Police
Saturday — Two Wendell August Forge medallions of a duck and an apple blossom, and a pair of black Oakley prescription sunglasses were stolen overnight from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Bessemer Avenue.
11:30 a.m. Thursday — An Apple iPad was found in Memorial Park. The owner can claim it at the police station at 337 E. Pine St.
May 5 — A pair of shoes and food were stolen overnight from a vehicle at a home in the 600 block of Ivan Drive.
May 1 — A wallet was stolen from a car at the Grove City High School gravel parking lot on Highland Avenue. The theft happened between 5 p.m. and midnight.
State Police, Butler
April 23 — Alexander Lefever, 21, of Saxonburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed into an embankment at Alderson and Kozy Corner roads in Clinton Township.
