M. Allan Petrosky

M. Allan Petrosky, 72, of West Sunbury passed away at 8:17 p.m. April 6 at St. John's in Mars.

Allan was born Aug. 26, 1942, in Braddock. He was the son of the late Marion J. “Peppy” Petrosky and the late Margaret Gubanich Petrosky.

He was raised in Hahntown, a small village on the outskirts of Irwin, and graduated from Norwin High School in 1960.

Allan served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1969. Upon arriving home, he attended and graduated from Robert Morris University where he received a B.S. in economics. Subsequently he graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware.

After a few career moves, Allan accepted a position at the U.S. Small Business Administration in the Pittsburgh District Office from 1977 to 1987, where he was appointed to the position of assistant district director, finance and investment. Later, he accepted a position at the Mars National Bank, Mars, from 1987 to 2004 when he retired where he was ultimately promoted to the position of senior loan officer.

Allan is survived by his son, Aaron Petrosky and his wife, Lisa Bodnar Petrosky, of Pitcairn; his daughter, Megan Petrosky Rybak and her husband, Dan Rybak, of Cranberry Township; and his grandchildren, Mika and Seiko Petrosky, and Brandon, Tessa and Adam Rybak. Also surviving are his stepson, Robert Ritchey; numerous cousins; plus hundreds of business acquaintances and friends.

PETROSKY — The family of M. Allan Petrosky, who died Monday, April 6, 2015, will receive friends at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.A blessing service will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. James Bedillion of St. Alphonsus Parish officiating. Burial will be private.If desired, online condolences may be submitted at www.williamfyoungfh.com.
