Fire causes tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage in Winfield Township
WINFIELD TWP — A 12-stall garage on Winfield Road went up in flames just before dawn this morning. No one was injured but the fire caused tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage.
Among the destroyed contents were at least four vehicles, a tractor and a fiberglass fishing boat, authorities said. Flames had already leveled the large pole-style building before crews got there but firefighters from several departments were able to save a barn close by, authorities said.
The state police fire marshal’s office has been called to investigate what started the blaze at 682 Winfield Road in Winfield Township about 5:30 a.m.
Ronald M. Jancosko owns the home, garage and barn.
