Harold R. Uber
Harold R. Uber, 92, who lived in Harrisville since 1952, passed away after a brief illness at 10:45 a.m. Monday at the Grove City Medical Center.
He was born in Grove City on March 27, 1923, to Carl R. Uber and Helen M. McKee Uber.
Mr. Uber married Melville Jane Miles on June 11, 1949. She preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 2014.
Mr. Uber retired as the postmaster of the Harrisville Post Office in 1978 from the United States Postal Service, after being employed for 30 years.
Mr. Uber was a member of the Harmony EPC Church in Harrisville.
A graduate of Grove City High School, Class of 1941. Harold served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was a lifetime member of the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department since 1951. He was a member of the F&AM Masonic Lodge 603, Grove City, New Castle Consistory and Knights Templar. He was a member of the Harrisville American Legion Post 852. He enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his family.
Mr. Uber is survived by four children, Richard H. Uber and his wife, Kathy Conroe, of Texas, Melane Humphrey of Harrisville, Cinda Husband and her husband, Merrick, of Grove City and Doreen Cline and her husband, Chuck, of Harrisville; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one son-in-law, Joe Humphrey.
UBER — Visiting hours for Harold R. Uber, who died Monday, May 11, 2015, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Chuck Cline, CLP, Mr. Uber's son-in-law and the Rev. Willard Morse, visitation pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.Burial with military honors will be in the Harmony Cemetary in Harrisville.Memorial tributes in Harold's memory may be made to the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
