Tuesday is deadline for real estate taxes
Residents of Butler, Callery, Valencia and West Sunbury have until Tuesday to pay their 2015 Butler County real estate taxes without a penalty.
Any tax payments received in person on or postmarked Tuesday will be honored at the face tax amount, according to county Treasurer Diane Marburger.
Residents may pay county real estate taxes in person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the treasurer’s office in the county government center, 124 W. Diamond St.
Mailed tax payments must be postmarked by Tuesday and be mailed to the Butler County Treasurer, P.O. Box 1208, Butler, PA 16003.
Parking lines will be repainted in garage
The city tier garage is expected to close for at least one weekend in July so its parking lines can be repainted.
The parking authority at its meeting Wednesday said it hopes the work can be done July 11 and 12.
The parking lines and directional arrows will be repainted for just under $20,000.
The authority said work may extend into a second weekend, but added at least part of the garage likely would remain open if that occurs.
The authority wants to finish the work before Butler Downtown’s Up on the Roof fundraising event on July 25.
That takes place on the top of the garage.
