Gary Eugene Turner
Gary Eugene “Cowboy” Turner, 63, of Butler passed away Monday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Nov. 3, 1951, in Freeport to the late John H. Turner and Ethel Irene (Barnhart) Turner.
Gary was a graduate of Freeport High School and of Butler County Community College.
He worked as an accountant for Quaker State Refinery in Emlenton then at National Auto and Truck Sales in Prospect for 20 years. He also worked for Altmeyer Fabricating in Butler for nine years.
Gary attended the Cadogan Union Church. He was a Cub Scout leader for Pack 20 in Butler and was a car enthusiast, well-known for his 1979 Monte Carlo.
Gary is survived by his former wife, Phyllis Turner; two sons, Gregory E. Turner and Matthew A. Turner; five grandchildren, John, Adelaide, Luke, Mackenzie and Kendall; one brother, Dale W. Turner; one sister, Martha (Martie) Pavey; and a number of nieces and nephews.
TURNER — Friends of Gary Eugene “Cowboy” Turner, who died Monday, June 15, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Maitland, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
