Margaret Long

Margaret “Margie” Long, 83, of Butler passed away Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Butler, the daughter of the late Frank Bega and Anna (Pazak) Bega.

Margie had worked at Butler Shirt Factory and later at Long Maintenance for 23 years.

She loved gardening, flowers and hunting. She had belonged to the Lyndora Drum and Bugle Corps and was a member of American Legion 117 Auxiliary, the Butler Moose 260 and AARP. She had been a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving are her son, Richard A.(Karen M.) Long Sr. of Fenelton; two grandchildren, Heather Long and Richard (Crystal) Long Jr.; three great-grandsons, Baeden, Joseph and Jacob Long; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert W. Long; her son, William Long; and her sisters and brothers.

LONG — Friends of Margaret “Margie” Long, who died Saturday, July 4, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
