Robert J. Jamison
Robert J. Jamison, 78, of Meridian passed away at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born Dec. 8, 1936, in Butler, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Mary Elizabeth (Wigton) Jamison.
He graduated from Butler High School. Bob served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Reserves.
He retired from the Melt Shop at Armco in January 1999 after 39 years.
Bob was a member of the Meridian United Presbyterian Church and the Meridian Vets Club. He was a fan of cars and enjoyed Lernerville racing, car cruises, the Bon Aire Car Club and NASCAR. He spent many mornings of his retirement having breakfast out with the guys. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Bob is survived by his wife, Peggy (Tidball) Jamison, who he married on July 6, 1963; three daughters, Michele Gonda and her husband, Mike, of Butler, Denise Monday and her husband, Pete, of Renfrew and Tricia Dulya and her husband, Andy, of Butler; six grandchildren, Megan and Lauren Gonda, Nathan, Luke and Logan Monday and Andrew Dulya; one brother, William Jamison of Indianapolis, Ind.; one sister, Joyce Mercer of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
JAMISON — The family of Robert J. Jamison, who died Saturday, July 4, 2015, will welcome friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. The Meridian Vets Club will meet at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday the funeral home.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Steve Franklin of the Meridian United Presbyterian Church officiating. Private burial will take place at the North Side Cemetery.Memorials are suggested to the Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., Butler, PA 16001.
