Alvin Weckerly
Alvin Ernest “Bud” Weckerly, 74, of Bruin, Pa., passed away Thursday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
He was born Sept. 8, 1940, in Parker, Pa., the son of J. Dean and Hannah (Feicht) Weckerly.
Bud was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from FT-KC High School in 1958. He was self-employed as a third-generation bricklayer and stone mason with Weckerly Construction, retiring in 1999. Bud honorably served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years and belonged to the Parker City-Allegheny Valley Masonic Lodge 521.
He enjoyed the annual fishing trips he took to Canada each year with family and friends and also liked hunting, bowling and playing poker.
He will be remembered with love by his wife, Susan (Bigley) Weckerly, whom he married Oct. 23, 1987; his sons, Patrick Weckerly of Mentor, Ohio, Gregory Weckerly and his wife, Lisa of Bruin and Jarrod Weckerly and his partner, Ryan Miller of Cranberry Township; his daughters, Teresa Mackrell and her husband, Kent of Chicora and Melinda Farrington and her husband, Jamie of Parker; his stepson, Ray Heginbotham of Karns City; his stepdaughter, Amy Furey and her husband, Paul of Fenelton; his grandsons, Aaron, Nathan and Jacob Weckerly of Bruin, and Stephen Barnhart of Fenelton; his granddaughters, Abigail MacKrell of Chicora, Hannah and Aletha Farrington of Parker, and Courtney Barnhart of Fenelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Betty Conto and Deanna Christy; and his nephew, Dean Christy.
WECKERLY — Friends of Alvin Ernest “Bud” Weckerly, who died Thursday, July 9 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia, Pa., where a Masonic service presented by Parker City-Allegheny Valley 521 will take place at 6:45 p.m.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
