Mark D. Arblaster, 63, of Slippery Rock died at 6:26 p.m. Thursday at Grove City Medical Center.

A son of the late Elmer C. and Anna Stanley Arblaster he was born in Grove City June 28, 1952.

He was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School.

Mark served with honor in the National Guard, retiring with the rank of Major.

He was currently serving as an ombudsman for the E.S.G.R.

He was director of plant operations at Grove City Medical Center. He began his career 42 years ago at the old Grove City Hospital and was instrumental in moving to the new medical center building.

The only thing he loved more than work was his family. His grandchildren gave him great pleasure, and his sense of humor gave his family and friends many laughs.

He could be found working in his yard with his John Deere tractor, polishing his Corvettes or watching NASCAR.

On June 8, 1974 he married the former Crystal Ritenour, she survives along with a son, Mark D. Arblaster II and his wife Sara of New Wilmington; a daughter Amy Jo Carter and her husband Chuck of Slippery Rock; four grandchildren, Emily, Seth, Mason and Ryder.

Also surviving are three brothers Larry, Steve and David Arblaster; a sister, Star Vespaziani; a brother-in-law, Gary Ritenour; and several nieces and nephews.

ARBLASTER — Friends of Mark D. Arblaster, who died on Thursday, July 16, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.On Monday the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at Forestville United Methodist Church.Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
