Robert C. Loerch

Robert C. Loerch, 87, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Clay Township, passed away peacefully at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday at Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Robert was born April 16, 1928, in Prospect. He was the son of the late Alfred Loerch and the late Clara E. Patterson Loerch.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Parish, having attended St. Louis Catholic Church. Robert was a graduate of Kittanning High School and PTI, where he received an associate degree in industrial management engineering.

Robert had been employed at Pullman Standard, where he was welder and foreman, until its closing. He worked at the Butler Auto Auction until his retirement.

Robert is survived by two daughters, Carol (Rick) Christie of Hooker and Cathy (Kent) Campbell of Polk; three sons, Henry (Caroline) Twentier of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Gary (Darlene) Twentier of Eau Claire and Mark (Beth Savinda) Twentier of Slippery Rock; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one sister, Margaret Ann Bowser, of Bryan, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Loerch; one son, Clyde Twentier Jr.; one grandson, Jeffrey A. Christie; and one brother, Donald Loerch.

LOERCH — The family of Robert C. Loerch, who died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. James Bedillion of St. Alphonsus Parish officiating.
