Greta M. John
Greta M. John, 86, of Butler, formerly of Haysville, Karns City, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Saturday at the Good Samaritan at Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 27, 1929, in Bradys Bend. She was the daughter of the late Charles Leo Yough and Lillian Smith Yough
She was a member of the Kaylor United Methodist Church while she was growing up until it closed in 1977. She was a graduate of Karns City High School.
She worked at Troutmans Department Store for many years until it closed. She then became a senior aid until retiring in June of 2014 at the age of 85.
Greta enjoyed playing cards, games and cooking delicious meals for her family. She liked country music and dancing and especially loved spending time with her daughter, Kathy, and her only grandson, Shawn.
She married Isaac “Chick” John in June 1949. He preceded her in death in January 1964.
Greta is survived by her daughter, Kathy McCune of Butler; her grandson, Shawn McCune of Butler; her sister, Jean Rottman of Petrolia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
