PITTSBURGH — Police say a 2-year-old girl was in the back seat when someone stole a car vehicle left running outside a downtown convenience store Sunday — but the thief apparently realized that and let the child out.

Police say the driver left it running when he went inside a 7-Eleven store on Liberty Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Police found the little girl on Stanwix Street, a couple blocks away, a short time later.

[naviga:h3]Macy’s store closes, but developer buys it[/naviga:h3]

PITTSBURGH — The Macy’s store in downtown Pittsburgh is closed, but Core Realty of Philadelphia bought the 13-story building for $15 million and plans to redevelop into two floors of retail shops, a 155-room hotel and more than 300 apartments. The building was a Kaufmann’s department store for more than a century before if became a Macy’s in 2005.
