Brenda Sue Tremaine Standiford
Brenda Sue Tremaine Standiford, 68, of Slippery Rock passed away at her residence on Wednesday.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1946, to Stanley Theodore Tremaine and Violetta Ruth Brooks Tremaine.
Her father Stanley was born on Nov. 23, 1926, in Canton, Ohio, and her mother, Violetta, was born on June 19, 1917, in Moundsville, W.Va.
Brenda married Charles Edward Standiford on Oct. 26, 1967, and he passed away on Sept. 30, 2013.
She graduated from John Marshall High School and had worked at a department store in Moundsville.
Brenda was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, reading, playing games on her Kindle and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Douglas Standiford and wife, Ree, of Richmond Hill, Ga., and M. Aaron “Tiny” Standiford of Slippery Rock; and three grandchildren, Lainey Elizabeth, Shelby Elyse and Caden Douglas Standiford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and grandson, John Edward.
STANDIFORD — The family of Brenda Sue Tremaine Standiford, who died on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, will observe a private interment service at Slippery Rock Cemetery and will hold a public memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, with Claire Megles, chaplain at Gentiva Hospice, presiding. The family will receive family and friends from noon until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Smith Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be given to the Slippery Rock Rescue Squad, P.O.
