Jack Hankey Bark

Jack Hankey Bark, 85, of Connoquenessing, formerly of Evans City, passed away Tuesday while in the comfort of his home.

Born June 25, 1930, in Tarentum, he was the son of the late Merle Hankey and Madelyn Audrey (Reed) Bark.

Jack was a longtime faithful member of the Plains Presbyterian Church in Cranberry Township, where he served as an elder and on the board of trustees.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, 19th Bombardment Wing, 28th Squadron, on 77 combat missions during the Korean War.

In 1989, he retired from ARMCO after 35 years of dedicated service. Jack was also a member and past master of the Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM Masonic Lodge in Zelienople. He was a craftsman with formal training as a gunsmith. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Evans City Sportsmen's Club. Jack will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 60 years, Joann E. (Heckard) Bark; his four children, Brian (Shirley) Bark of Cecil, Pa., Jeffrey Bark of the Philippines, Karen (Bob) Scheboth of Wilmington, N.C., and Beth (Keith) Stauffer of Butler; his brother, Robert (Shirley) Bark of Florida; his 10 grandchildren, Jacob Bark, Lucas Bark and Anthony Profio, Jaclynn (Michael) Bruce, Courtney and Travis Scheboth, Justin Bark, Simon Bark, Jessica (Matt) Horzempa and Todd (Kristy) Stauffer; his two great-grandchildren, Hannah Horzempa and Liam Bark; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane.

BARK — The family of Jack Hankey Bark, who died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.An honorary Masonic service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Plains Presbyterian Church, 326 Plains Church Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Derek Marotta officiating.Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.He will be laid to rest with military honors at the Plains Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cranberry Township.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's honor in support of the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Bark family at www.boylanfamilyservices.com.
