Jobless Rate
Butler and all eight bordering counties showed improved jobless figures in August, the latest month for which statistics are available. Butler continued to lead with the lowest jobless rate of 4.5 percent, followed closely by Allegheny County at 4.7 percent. Four others were in the 5-percent range.
