Mary “Betty” Schuster Phillips

Mary “Betty” Schuster Phillips, 92, of Whitehall, formerly of Butler, passed away Friday.

She was the wife of the late George T. Phillips; loving mother of Pamela M., George T. (Lisa), Michael E. (Pamela), and Richard A. (Susan) Sr. and the late James and William; cherished grandmother of Tyler Phillips (Tommy) Large, Hayley Phillips, Brittany Phillips (Craig) Hartle, Nicholas Phillips, Cristina Phillips (David) Lavigne, Jennifer and Richard A. (Rachael) Phillips Jr.; great-grandmother of Reagan and Andrew Large, Remi and Grady Hartle, Aly and Kai Phillips, Nate and Maggie Lavigne; preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty belonged to St. Andrew, St. Paul and St. Fidelis church choirs. She volunteered at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 25 plus years as a sing along director.

Betty was an avid sports fan, gardener and loved her Catholic faith.

PHILLIPS — The family of Mary “Betty” Schuster Phillips, who died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, will not have a viewing services. A memorial service will be later in Butler.
