Lewis Gordon Hoover
Lewis Gordon Hoover, 91, of Adrian, Mich., went peacefully home to heaven on Sept. 1 with his family by his side.
Born July 6, 1924, in Evans City, to Mr. and Mrs. Leo Harry (Lillian Kistner) Hoover, Gordon was raised in Fombell by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lewis (Bertha Hoberman) Kistner, upon the death of his parents.
On June 1, 1950, he married Shirley Ann McBrien in New Brighton. She predeceased him May 12, 2015.
Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, his beloved sister and his brother-in-law, Betty Lee and James Lintz; and his sister-in-law, Shirleen Hoover.
Surviving are his children, Judy Beth and David Ripper of Adrian, Mich., and Jeffrey Gordon and Tina Hoover of Melbourne, Fla.; grandchildren, Christopher and Audrey Hoover of Okinawa, Japan, Kimberly and Jason Crockett of Glen Allen, Va., and Mark D. Ripper of Adrian, Mich.; and seven great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Alexis, Troy, Summer Ann, Vianca, Jason Jr. and Kaydi. Also surviving is his beloved brother, James L. Hoover of Austintown, Ohio.
HOOVER — A memorial service for Lewis Hoover, who died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, and a celebration of life will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Calvin Presbyterian Church, Ellwood City, with the Rev.
