Thelma Margaret Jeffreys, 81, of Slippery Rock passed away Monday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born Feb. 9, 1934, in Slippery Rock Township to Alexander “Alex” Clayton Ralston and Gladys Margaret Dickson Ralston.

She married William Lee Jeffreys on Jan. 25, 1957. Thelma graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1952 and later from the New Castle Business School.

Early in her years, she worked as a secretary for Buckham's Ford Garage in Slippery Rock and later as a church secretary for the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.

She was an active member of the King's Daughters of the Church. Thelma was a member of the Slippery Rock High School Alumni and enjoyed knitting, embroidery, working with computers, texting her children and grandchildren and reading from her Kindle.

Survivors include her husband, Bill at home; three daughters, Brenda L. Williams and her husband, Wesley, of Beaver, Pa., Beth A. Magill and her husband, Kim Scott, of Hastings, N.Y., and Betsy M. Flickinger and her husband, Duane, of Bairdford; her son, Walter C. Jeffreys and his partner, Rob Hazlett, of Columbus, Ohio; two special cousins, Audrey Rust and Louise Kline; seven grandchildren, Hillary, Sara, Amy, Becky, Scott, Shawn and Shannon; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

JEFFREYS — Family of Thelma Margaret Jeffreys, who died Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith McIlwain, pastor of the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, presiding.Interment will follow at the Slippery Rock Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Slippery Rock Rescue Squad, P.O.
