Jean A. (Huckestein) Ketterer
Jean A. (Huckestein) Ketterer, 95, a longtime resident of Zelienople, passed away Saturday while under the care of Newhaven Court Personal Care Home in Butler.
Born Nov. 7, 1919, in Mt. Troy, she was the daughter of the late August and Ethel (Catterall) Huckestein.
Jean was a longtime faithful member of St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church in Zelienople, where she served as a former member of the St. Ann Guild and assisted with the lunch program. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Zelienople and was a member of the VA Butler Healthcare Support Group.
Jean worked as a sales associate for Mathew Jewelers and Maddalon Jewelers in Zelienople. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her three daughters, Timothea Merrill of Greenville, Alice Green and her husband, Dale, of Evans City and Virginia Bryant and her husband, David, of Austin, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles L. Ketterer, whom she married Nov. 12, 1942, and who passed away Feb. 13, 2002; her son-in-law, Richard Merrill; her brother, Robert Huckestein; and her sisters, Hilda Martinkovich and Alice Fortun.
KETTERER — The family of Jean A. (Huckestein) Ketterer, who died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with the Rev.
