William M. Betros

William M. Betros

William M. Betros, 83, of Boyers died unexpectedly at 12:18 a.m. Monday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

A son of William and Elda R. Maus Betros, he was born April 27, 1932, in Fairview, Pa. He attended Karns City High School.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served as a sergeant during the Korean War.

Bill retired in 1988 from National Underground Storage, where he had worked in construction as an electrician. He had previously worked at Witco in Petrolia. Bill was well-known as a bricklayer.

He was a member of Boyers United Methodist Church. For more than 50 years, he was a member of Grove City Lodge 603 F&AM. Additionally he was a member of New Castle Consistory and Harrisville American Legion Post 852. Gardening, hunting and his beloved dog, Buddy, brightened his life.

On Dec. 24, 1952, he married the former W. Jean Stoops, who survives along with a daughter, Kathy D. Sisler, and her husband, Carl, of Harrisville; a son, William S. Betros, and his wife, Patti, of Boyers; a grandson, Christopher Cokain; his twin-sister, Wilma Guilyard, and her husband, Albert, of DuBois; and his sister-in-law, Eleanor, of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Betros

BETROS — Friends of William M. Betros, who died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev.
