Mary Susan Moore
Mary Susan Moore, 78, of Butler passed away suddenly Monday at St. Barnabas Valencia Woods with her daughter at her side.
Mary was born May 16, 1937, in Englewood, N.J., the loving daughter of Irish immigrants, Bernard and Nancy Moore.
Mary graduated from St. Cecilia's High School in 1955. Soon after she began working as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines and became a member of the Silverliners. She adored her job, and she made lifelong friends on her journey there.
Mary was an avid knitter and opened a successful “Mary's Lamb” yarn shop. She lived on an apple orchard and baked apple pies and made homemade applesauce every year until she passed away. She loved to work in her garden and made the family favorite spaghetti sauce.
Mary was a devoted Catholic and a member of the Holy Sepulcher Church. She was a master at crossword puzzles and loved to tell jokes that everyone loved. She was devoted to her family, who loved her dearly.
Mary is survived by her brother, Bernard (Dottie) Moore of Vermont; her son, Daniel (Evie) Kertz of Butler; her daughter, Susan (Mark) Doherty of Mars; her son, Peter (Sara) Kertz of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her brother-in-law, Rick (Nicki) Kertz of Virginia; her grandchildren, Cassandra, Brady and Keegan; her great-grandchild, Jeremiah; and nieces and nephews and all her friends.
