U.S. Air Force Pvt. Michael E. Troup, son of Michael G. and Marlo Troup of Sarver, graduated from basic training Oct. 3 at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Troup graduated in 2014 from Freeport High School.

U.S. Army Pvt. Jacob D. Miller has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Jackson, S.C.

Miller is the son of Douglas and Kelly Miller of Chicora.

He is a 2015 graduate of Butler Senior High School.
