Mr. Andrew G. Slomer, 80, of Newnan, Ga., died Wednesday at his home after a brief illness.

Mr. Slomer was a native of Butler. From 1961 to 1982, he lived in Lyons, Ga. He was a retired industrial construction worker and was of the Assembly of God faith.

Mr. Slomer was preceded in death by his wife, Zelda Slomer, in 2004.

Mr. Slomer is survived by three sons, Gordon Marty Slomer and his wife, Lisa Kay, of Newnan, Ga., Thomas Andrew Slomer of McDonough, Ga., and Kelvin Lamar Slomer and his wife, Wendy, of Dawsonville, Ga.; three brothers, Buddy Slomer of Butler, David Slomer of Butler and Joseph Slomer of Arizona; four sisters, Margaret Brown of West Sunbury, Martha Kowal of Butler, Ruthie Pollock of Butler and Patricia Neider of Arizona; and three grandchildren.

SLOMER — The family and friends of Mr. Andrew G. Slomer, who died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, were received today at the Stewart-Rosier Funeral Service, Lyons Chapel, Lyons, Ga.Graveside funeral services followed visitation at Lyons City Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Hightower officiating. Interment will follow.
